Of Kohath.

The sons of Kohath were the founders of nine Levitical families.

Aaron was set apart as high priest (see 1Ch 25:1-19).

Concerning Moses, his sons were counted among the Levites in general, but they did not receive a specific portion within the tribe of Levi, which was reserved for those carrying out the special duties of the priesthood.
