2Sa 20:23-26 David's Great Officers.

David reappointed Joab as commander-in-chief over all the army of Israel, despite his private reservations about the murder of Amasa. This decision was likely made out of necessity, as David recognized he did not have the authority to remove Joab from his position. By reinstating Joab, David aimed to restore stability and normalcy to the government.

The list of David's top officials is provided here to illustrate that order had been reestablished in the kingdom.
